After a dramatic 5-4, 10-inning win Tuesday night over DuBois Central Catholic, the Paper City baseball team will look to improve to 4-0 when they host Brockway today. The Rovers enter the contest 0-3.
Today will be Brockway's first road game. They lost to Bradford 18-12 on Tuesday after leading 11-4 after three innings. The Owls scored one in the fourth and took the lead with eight runs in the fifth.
The Rovers were no-hit by Kane's Carson Whiteman on March 30. The Wolves right-hander struck out 14 during the 11-0, five-inning win. They also lost to Brookville 14-3 in five innings on Monday.
"Everybody is dangerous in baseball. Anybody can have their day at the plate. If you have a little bit of a letdown, anybody can beat you," Porter said. "We keep stressing that with the kids. Brockway is no pushover. Nobody is a pushover. You can be beaten by anybody, so show up ready to play the game."
The Rams opened the season with a 10-3 win at Curwensville on March 30 and beat Cameron County 18-0 in three innings at home on Monday.
The game is set to start at 4:15 p.m. and will be broadcast on WKBI, 93.9 FM – B-94.
