On Wednesday Philipsburg avenged a 1-0 Tuesday loss to Boyertown with a 1-0 win over the host to capture the Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball championship.
Both teams move on to the Mid-Atlantic regional tournament that gets underway on Aug. 3.
Region 8 champ Wilcox finished the tournament 1-2. They fell to Boyertown 7-0 on Saturday and then beat Blackhawk 8-1 in the loser's bracket on Sunday. The season came to an end on Monday with a 3-0 loss to Paxton.
