Johnsonburg's Chloe Trumbull shown winning the 300-meter hurdles at last week's District 9 Class AA championships will be competing at today's PIAA championships at Shippensburg University along with teammates Annasophia Stauffer, Adria Magnusson, Abby King, RJ Miller, and Aaron Myers.

Johnsonburg senior track and field team members Chloe Trumbull (110 and 300-meter hurdles) and RJ Miller (high jump) and sophomores Annasophia Stauffer (200-meters) and Aaron Myers (800-meters) will be competing in individual events at today’s PIAA Class AA Track and Field Championships being held at Shippensburg University. Junior Adria Magnusson and sophomore Abby King will join Trumbull and Stauffer on the 4X400-meter relay team.

Trumbull won both hurdle events at last week’s District 9 Class AA Championships held in Brookville. She placed sixth in the 300-meters at the 2019 state championships. Miller, Stauffer, Myers, and the relay team were runner-ups at districts.

Freshman Tori Newton, the District 9 javelin winner, will represent Elk County Catholic at today’s championship. She will be joined by freshman Grace Nuebert, who placed second at districts in the 3,200 meters. Senior Gina Carnovale, sophomore Sami Straub, and freshman Sophia Bille will join Nuebert on the 4X800-meter relay team which was the district runner-ups. Senior Joe Wolfe will represent the Crusaders. He finished second in both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter races.

Kane senior Zuke Smith (long jump) and junior Josh Greville (Pole Vault) will be joined by senior Josh Buhl and junior Jack Bell on the 4X400-meter relay team which placed first at districts. Smith and Greville each finished second in their individual events at districts.

Preliminary heats are only being run in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and the boys’ 110-meter hurdles, and the 100 and 200-meters for both. The rest of the competitions will be broken down into flights with no prelims.

Elk County Catholic (Neubert, Carnovale, Straub, Bille) – 4X800-meter relay – finals (1st flight) – 10:20 a.m.

Boys

RJ Miller – High Jump – finals – 12 p.m.

Aaron Myers – 800-meters – finals (1st flight) – 2:20 p.m.

Zuke Smith – Long Jump – 9 a.m.

Josh Greville – Pole Vault – 12 p.m.

Joe Wolves - 3,200-meters – 9 a.m., 1,600 – 12:25 p.m.

Kane (Smith, Greville, Buhl, Bell) – 4X400-meter relay – 3 p.m.
