RIDGWAY--The First Lutheran Church in Ridgway, located at 331 South Street, is collecting donations for tornado relief in Kentucky after recent intense storms in the region caused the loss of 88 lives and billions of dollars in damages.
"Right now, we are concentrating on gift cards and monetary donations," said Pastor Fox "to address the immediate needs of families and individuals, especially this close to the Christmas Holiday."

The Worldwide Lutheran Mission is coordinating the response, much as they did in North Carolina in 2018 when Pastor Fox took members of her congregation on a volunteer construction trip to aid in damages caused by the 2018 hurricane.

"We don't need building supplies or labor right now," said Fox, "we are concentrating on making sure children have a Christmas and are working with Walmart, Target and other retailers to provide for those in need all over the region."
Pastor Fox will be going on a road trip herself, to personally deliver the donations and supplies to southern PA on Monday, December 20, before a Lutheran Filled Semi steams out to the disaster zone.
Donations of any size are welcome and can be dropped off at the parish at 331 South Street up until Sunday evening. The church will be open to all from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday to accept donations from everyone unable to send or take the gifts sooner to the parish. Please call the parish at  (814) 773-5381 to find out more information, especially about specific needs.
