RIDGWAY TOWNSHIP-- It was a quick meeting for October for visitors to the Ridgway Township Supervisors meeting on Tuesday evening.

A budget workshop before the meeting and several others planned will occupy the Supervisors' time before the draft will be available for public perusal on November 16. It will be available through the end of the month at the Ridgway Township Municipal Headquarters at 1537A Montmorenci Road, during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Approval of the Budget will take place at the December meeting.

The Supervisors authorized the placement of advertisements for the paving of the portion of Water Street in Ridgway Township. Residents of the area take the road as a quick route to Johnsonburg instead of 219N. Although it is posted with "No Truck" signs on both ends, many a lost trucker has found themselves traveling along this stretch of road between Ridgway Township and Johnsonburg Borough. The Supervisors are hoping to begin the paving process in the spring of 2022. The direct allotment of the Liquid Fuel Tax for Ridgway Township will be used to complete this resurfacing of the roadway.

With the new garage constructed at the Sandy Beach Recreation Area now completed, the Supervisors authorized the placement of an electrical pole and wiring for the new building that will be used to house maintenance equipment and additional items at the park.

The Supervisors are evaluating several life insurance plans for Towship employees with several new companies offering packages to the Township. The Township currently tabled the motion until more research can be completed, and it will be decided on at the November meeting.

Financial Reports showed no discrepancies, and the payment of the accrued bills for the month was approved.

The Supervisors wish to remind all voters of the General Election taking place from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. in Elk County on November 2. As always, the Municipal Building will be used a polling site, so the Ridgway Township Offices will be closed for the day.

The next meeting of the Ridgway Township Supervisors will take place on November 19, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building. The public is invited to attend.
