RIDGWAY--The Kinetic by Windstream retail location is now open in Ridgway as the once-troubled company seeks to rebrand its image with an expansive 6-year project to bring fiber-optic broadband internet capability to North Central Pennsylvania.
The new Kinetic by Windstream Retail Store, located at 320 Main Street in Ridgway, is directly between the American Legion and the Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce locations. On Thursday, the storefront will hose a grand re-opening for the general public beginning at 10 a.m. During the opening, customers who stop by and renew or switch their service to Kinetic are eligible for some serious discounts as the company seeks to create partnerships with customers once again.
Jeanne Shearer, Vice President of State Government Affairs for Kinetic, spoke about the company's commitment to bring fiber-optic cable to individual customers, not just the region as a whole, "We are going to be providing the fiber right into customers homes. and be using local crews to do it." Kinetic has committed to hiring local crews to perform many of the upgrades to its internet service in the area, based out of Brookville. "This will help bring good-paying jobs to local workers and make sure our crews are available with emergencies occur to respond to issues quickly."
Jordan Childers, the Retail Sales Manager for GA, PA, OH, and NY, was also on hand, not just to cut the grand-opening ribbon as shown in the above photo, but to provide training and help select staff for the Ridgway location. "I live in Georgia, but I spend so much time in this region it's become a second home, and I love the small-town feel of Ridgway."
The opening ceremony today at the new location also helped to highlight Kinetic's commitment "to become more a part of the communities we serve," as Shearer said, "with our commitment to assist the local organization with direct donations."
Paula Fritz Eddy, Executive Director of The Elk County Community Foundation, was on hand to accept a check for $1,000 from Kinetic, which will go directly to their scholarship and growth funds. "Thank you for this donation, and we at the Foundation look forward to establishing a great relationship with Kinetic in the years to come," said Eddy.
In addition to Eddy, Michelle Bogacki, and Roberta Buehler of the Elk County Chamber of Commerce and Elk County Commission, Matt Quesenberry were also on hand for the ribbon company, and they welcomed the new retail store to downtown Ridgway. As Quesenberry remarked, "This is one of the few buildings in Ridgway that I have not been in; there was always a locked door on the Main Street side before. The remodel looks great and will surprise many when they come in for the first time."
Quesenberry, Bogacki, and Buehler also offered their expertise to the new location. Everyone present agreed that high-speed internet was desperately needed in the area, especially in light of the past few years where it has become an essential part of business and daily life.
The Kinetic by Windstream retail location will hold a grand opening on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. for new and returning customers at the refurbished location at 320 Main Street in Ridgway. Besides some great deals on new and existing products, food, refreshments, and Kinetic swag, residents are invited to come by and check out the location that had been a slight mystery for many people who have never been inside the building that has sat on Main Street for many years
