RIDGWAY--As part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) the Elk County Commissioners announced on Tuesday that they have released $195,000 in grants to 43 local businesses that were affected by the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020.

As the first county in Pennsylvania to distribute funding in this way the Commissioners worked for months with Federal legislators, the County Solicitor, and local businesses to make these desperately needed funds available to local companies that were all but forgotten in the initial and secondary rounds of COVID-19 funding.
