At St. Leo's Parish School, the Fourth and Fifth-grade students got to have a day in the sun and learn all about Ridgway during a Scavenger Hunt through downtown on Thursday.
RIDGWAY--If you were driving around downtown Ridgway on Thursday morning, you might have seen some red and white-clad youngsters sporting the St. Leo's Parish School colors in escorted groups tromping through town. No, they weren't playing hooky; they were taking part in a Scavenger Hunt to learn more about the amazing history and business of the town they call home.
Thanks to Amy Goode, Program Manager of the Community Education Center of Elk & Cameron Counties, the students were divided into two sessions, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, and escorted by teachers and Goode, they hunted all over downtown Ridgway for dates, businesses, and specific attractions that bring thousands of visitors to the "Lilly of the Valley" every year.
