Staff Writer

The August meeting of the Ridgway Township Supervisors got off to a quick start at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Among topics discussed was a recent incident of vandalism at Sandy Beach Park in Ridgway Township. Supervisors expressed disappointment that anyone would seek to damage the area which so many enjoy on a daily basis.
A suspect has been arrested and is in the Elk County Prison on charges including the vandalizing of Sandy Beach Park. Adam Jones is charged with prohibited possession of a firearm, fleeing police, driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, and several other traffic violations, according to charges filed at Magisterial District Judge James Martin’s office on Aug. 14.
