Results of live show to be announced tonight on 'The Voice'

St. Marys, Pa. – On last night's live show on NBC's "The Voice," Pip, the 19-year-old son of St. Marys native Jim Arnold, put on a rousing performance of The Killers' 'When You Were Young.' Voting opened immediately after the show, at 10 p.m. EST, and will continue through 10 a.m. today. Pip and the five other remaining members of Adam Levine's team performed last night, and after the votes are tallied, the top three vote-getters will be saved while the remaining three will have one last chance to perform in hopes of being "saved" by Levine. Individuals can vote for Pip and help him advance to the next round by calling 1-866-856-8311 or visiting Up to 10 votes can be cast via each method. Purchasing Pip's version of "When You Were Young" on iTunes also counts as a vote. While the gathering of supporters at ChinAmerica Palace in St. Marys seemed to enjoy Pip's performance last night, the show's judges had a bit more constructive criticism to offer. "I appreciate your vocal ability, I do, I was right with Adam when I was watching the video of the coaching, that I wanted you to throw your vocals away more. You come across very proper sometimes and whatnot, but it just came across as trying too hard for me," said Christina Aguilera. Levine, who chose the song for Pip, remarked that the young singer was able to do well with changing up the type of song he performed. "I think that what's cool is that we're doing with everybody, is like kind of just when you think someone is like this, you present something else that surprises everybody, and you achieved that," Levine said. The results from last night show will be announced live tonight on an hour-long episode of 'The Voice' beginning at 9 p.m. Pick up a copy of the Tuesday, April 10, 2012 edition of The Ridgway Record for more.
