In a historic first for the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, the governing board has elected a female leadership team for the top three positions in 2021. For the chairperson position, Commissioner Carol Duffy of McKean County will lead the group along with Vice-Chair Commissioner Nancy Grupp of Potter County and Second Vice-Chair Commissioner Ann Losey of Cameron County.

The North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission (North Central) is an economic development organization based in Ridgway founded in 1966. As of 2019, they had $4.2 million in revenue and $10 million in assets. North Central is the designated Local Development District for the counties of Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean, and Potter.

Elk County readers may be unfamiliar with these Commissioners from neighboring counties, so a brief outline on each of the new leadership team will be provided in Saturday's Ridgway Record.
