JASD Elementary students were able to participate in several activities over the past week. A few of those are as follows:
The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s Mobile Agriculture Education Science Lab recently donated 20 copies of the book Produced with Pride in Pennsylvania to the Johnsonburg Area Elementary School library. JASD would like to thank the Mobile Ag Science Lab.

Students at the Johnsonburg Area Elementary School recently had the opportunity to take part in a Breakout Edu activity. Based on the popular escape rooms, Breakout EDU is an immersive learning game platform where players use teamwork and critical thinking to solve a series of challenging puzzles in order to open a locked box. In the activity, the students were presented with a scenario where a strange virus was spreading across Castle Rock County. The students received clues and had to solve problems to learn the combination to open the box that contained the antidote and save everyone before the virus spreads.

Fourth-grade student Levi Miller was the first student in the Johnsonburg Area Elementary School to reach 100 Accelerated Reader points for the 2018-2019 school year. In the Accelerated Reader program, a book is assigned a certain point value. Students read the book and take a test to earn the points, which are based on difficulty level.
