Elkers lose in completion of suspended game

ST. MARYS – In the completion of a suspended game, the Elk County Catholic Crusaders defeated the Ridgway Elkers by a 14-3 score in five innings.The game was started on Wednesday and suspended in the home half of the third inning when Mother Nature took over. It was completed Friday night following the ECC vs. SMA contest.In the home half of the third inning on Friday, Elk Catholic scored two runs. Luke Daghir walked then stole second. Ben Daghir singled. Wtih two outs, Kyle Schneider singled scoring both Luke and Ben making the score 12-1.The top of the fourth found Ridgway score twice. Alex Dickant led off iwth a single. He stole second. With one out Jesse Gardner walked. A single by Lou Stilwell scored both Dickant and Gardner making the score 12-3. In the home half of the inning Wehler reached base on a fielder’s choice. Luke Daghir walked Ben Daghir singled scoring both Wehler and Luke Daghir giving Elk the 14-3 lead.The Elkers left two men on base in the top of the fifth as the Crusaders won the game 14-3 in five innings.Ridgway – 3Jesse Reynolds 3-0-1, Kevin Kilhoffer 3-0-0, Josh Mitchell 3-0-2, D.J.
