KERSEY – Nine months and over 525 service hours culminated in a dedication ceremony for the Dagus Mines American Legion Post 511 Veterans Memorial, an Eagle Scout Project led by 15-year-old Wes Lion of Troop 94.
American Legion Post 511 Commander David Carter praised Lion’s “planning, fundraising, and hard work” during the brief dedication ceremony held Veterans Day at the new memorial located outside the American Legion building in Dagus Mines.
“This memorial is a great way to honor our veterans of the area as well as Post 511,” Carter said. “The memorial is a great place for us to reflect upon the service of veterans and their families.”
