A Josh Greville layup in the final minute of the fourth quarter completed a 16 point deficit for the Wolves. Carson Whiteman led the Kane comeback with a game high 19 points; 12 coming in the second half.
Luke Jensen gave the Crusaders a 34-33 lead with 1:13 remaining with a steal and three-point play. ECC went on to win 39-33 Friday night in Ridgway. The victory upped the Crusaders to 15-3 and dropped the Elkers to 4-7
Ridgway had a tough time in Johnsonburg (11-3) Wednesday night losing to the Rams 41-19. The loss snapped a three-game win streak and dropped the Elkers to 4-6.
Rams head coach Dan Nelson sees tonight’s home game with Kane (5-4) and Monday’s on the road at Bradford (6-8) as playoff games as his team jostles for Class A postseason positioning. Tuesday, March 2 is the final night for games to count towards playoff seeding.
Ridgway senior Keyona Gardner and Johnsonburg sophomore Abby Haight both qualified for the PIAA Gymnastics Championships that will be held Friday and Saturday March 5-6 at Monaca Turners in Monaca. Both will be representing the Elkers in the vault competition.
The Lady Elkers will look for a second-straight win today when they travel to St. Marys to take on Elk County Catholic (12-6) . The 1-5 Ridgway girls won in Johnsonburg 30-25 on Wednesday. The Lady Crusaders won the first meeting 39-12 on Feb. 6.

The Coudersport Lady Falcons defeated the Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders by a score of 49-36 on Wednesday night in a game played at Elk County Catholic High School.
In a very streaky game that had multiple Wolve’s comebacks, the Crusaders managed to pull away late and win 46-36. The Crusaders were led by Mark Kraus who had a team high 12 points. Mason McAlister added 10 and Charlie Breindel and Luke Jansen both chipped in 9.
