Lady Dutch soccer falls to Lady Elkers 3-0 Monday

The Ridgway Lady Elkers soccer team scored three second half goals to defeat the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch by a 3-0 score Monday afternoon at the SMAHS soccer field.
The first 40 minutes of the game saw both teams have opportunities but neither could connect on them.
"Ridgway outplayed us today. They wanted it more," said St. Marys coach Eric Bridges.
"We were a little complacent but all the credit goes to Ridgway, they deserved it today," added Bridges.

Lady Crusaders down Lady Raiders 3-2

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders came away with a tough 3-2 victory over the Brookville Lady Raiders on Monday afternoon in a match played at Benzinger Park.
"In general I'm happy with the win. It was a good, gutsy win to push through," said ECC head coach Kelli Brannock. "Brookville didn't give up. Obviously they came to play today. It took our defense a little bit to get going, but once they really settled in in the second half, I think that really helped the momentum."

Crusaders rally for 3-2 win over Raiders

KERSEY – In their past two games the Elk County Catholic Crusader soccer team relied on their defense to fend off attempted rallies by their opponents late in the game. On Monday night it was the Crusaders who were trying to rally late, and their offense came through as they overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat the Brookville Raiders 3-2 in a match played at Angela Huey Memorial Field.
"I am very proud of the kids and their never-quit effort tonight," said ECC head coach TJ Weaver. There were many obstacles they had to overcome to get the outcome they desired."

Crusaders down Wolverines, 50-23

SHEFFIELD – The Elk County Catholic Crusaders improved to 4-0 on the season with a 50-23 victory over the Sheffield Wolverines on Saturday afternoon in a game played in Sheffield.
"I warned the kids. I said, 'This is a tough place to come up and win a football game.' It is," said ECC head coach Tony Gerg. "They (Sheffield) have a lot of athletes."
"They're a good team, they really are," Gerg added. "We had a couple good plays and were able to break a couple holes open and we capitalized on that."
