Helen A. Predko, 92, formerly of 1028 North Broad St., Ridgway, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 9, 1921 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Stowick) Yando. She married Joseph Predko on Feb. 9, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1992. She resided in Ridgway all her life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Anna Marie Mosier of Kersey; three sons, Joseph (Kathy) Predko of Ridgway, John (Dody) Predko of Ridgway and Michael "Whitey" (Elizabeth) Predko of Ridgway; seven granddaughters, Mary Jin of Kersey, JoAnn Bennett of Kersey, Donna Kronenwetter (Aaron) of Kersey, Brittany Predko of Ridgway, Dawn Mitchell of Ridgway, Melissa Perry of Johnsonburg and Susan Filer of Tidioute; four grandsons, Michael (Stephanie) Predko of Chambersburg, Dave (Stephanie) Predko of Dover, John Predko of Ridgway and Robert Mosier of Kersey; four great-granddaughters, Christina Bennett, Serina Bennett, Madelyn Predko and Kaitlyn Predko; six great-grandsons, Dakota Martell, Peyton Predko, Grant Jin, Dylan Predko, Blake Kronenwetter and Conner Predko; two sisters, Mary Hoehen and Victoria Beck, both of Ridgway, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Mesher, Sophie Kempisty, Stella Yando and Ann Yando; five brothers, Anthony, Stanley, Joseph, Michael and John Yando; a son-in-law, Michael Mosier; and one grandson, James Mosier.
Funeral and Committal Services for Helen A. Predko will be private. Officiating will be Fr. Brian E. Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Leo Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials can be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
