Waynea Laynette Reavis Laughner, 54, of Hampton, Va., died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at her home in Virginia.
Mrs. Laughner was born Jan. 30, 1960 in Wilkes County to Bobby Wayne and Katherine Hudler Reavis. She had a special love for animals.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy John Laughner; one daughter, Melanie Dancy and her husband Brian of Purlear, N.C.; her mother, Katherine Hudler Goggins of Millers Creek, N.C.; her stepfather, Vaughn Key of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Alexis Dancy, Lauren Dancy, Elizabeth Dancy and Marina Dancy; six sisters, Tamera Shephard and her husband Dean of Wilkesboro, N.C., Bobbie Gettler and her husband Mike of Mooresville, N.C., Lisa Harris of Ferguson, N.C., Tanya Reavis-Turner of Middle Port, Ohio, Ellen Fender and her husband Jim of Sparta, N.C. and Sophia Key of Florida; and two brothers, Jeff Miller of Clinton, Tenn. and Shannon Key of North Wilkesboro, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Reavis; and her maternal grandmother, Mabel Hudler Taylor.
Funeral services for Waynea Laynette Reavis Laughner were held Friday, April 18 at 2 p.m. at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Re. Lyn Lambert officiating. Entombment was at Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family received friends Friday from noon until 1:45 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
