Irvin "Woody" Franklin Hill, 66, of Hallton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 as result of an automobile accident in Marienville.
He was born in Greenville on Jan. 23, 1947, to the late Elmer and Ida D. (Kitch) Hill.
He was a 1965 graduate of Greenville High School and retired from General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army, from which he received an honorable discharge.
He loved everything about the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Woody loved his animals and spending time with his good friends.
He is survived by two daughters, Lesley Sue Harlow and her husband Michael W. of Greenville, and Diana Lynn Thompson and her husband John R. of Conneautville; a brother, Orville "Bud" Hill of Flordia; four sisters, Irene Tiner of North Little Rock, Ark., Phyllis Eastlick and her husband Richard of Greenville, Nellie Beilstein of Greenville, and Darlene Blue of Greenville; three grandchildren, Corey A. Whitman of Washington, Brittani Lynn Thompson of Linesville, and Andrew John Thompson of Linesville; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend, Michelle Margaret Augusta of Ohio.
He also leaves behind his golden retriever, Libby, who was in the accident with him but escaped uninjured.
