Ridgway girls basketball lost 52-27 to Sheffield Friday night at Ridgway Area High School.
Sheffield was paced by sophomore Jen Isenberg who finished with a game-high 27 points. Isenberg started strong with 13 points in the opening eight minutes. After a Hannah Vile bucket opened the game for Sheffield, Isenberg would score seven straight points off a 3-point play and two short field goals to give the Lady Wolverines a 9-0 lead.
Ridgway junior Jenni Thomas would add a runner in the lane at the 6:09 mark of the first quarter before Isenberg would convert her second 3-point play of the quarter for a 12-2 lead. After Isenberg made a free throw before Jessica Kifer would add a pair of field goals to cut the margin to 13-6. After another Isenberg field goal, Ridgway senior Tracey Ecklund would steal a Sheffield pass at midcourt and take it to the basket for a layup. Sheffield would add three points at the end of the first quarter to take an 18-8 lead into the second quarter.
