The foursome of Wee J. Fernan, Charlie Gausman, Scott Jacobs and Steve Martin earned the overall best time on Saturday in the 31st installment of the Ridgway Triathlon.
Fernan owned the best time in the 5-mile run at 29 minutes and nine seconds while Gausman took third place in the 15-mile bike ride. Jacobs and Martin finished the 9-mile canoe race in one hour, 24 minutes and 39 seconds. The foursome finished in two hours, 34 minutes and 22 seconds.
The best time in the 15-mile bike ride was 37 minutes and 30 seconds by Keith Gerber; the best time in the canoe was one hour, 22 minutes and 38 seconds by Paul Gruber and Fran Kopita.
In the solo spotlight was Chaz Ross, who won the ironman 35-and-under devision in two hours, 38 minutes and 48 seconds.
Leon Mosher won the ironman male 36-and-over title in a time of two hours, 52 minutes and 35 seconds.
The ironman female title went to Jenn Morelli, who finished the triathlon in three hours, 38 minutes and 35 seconds.
"I think the triathlon went very well," said Mary Lynne Bellotti, executive director of the Ridgway YMCA. "We had 113 participants, and in the just for fun category we had an ironman compete with his 4-legged canine friend.
"It takes so much work to put on this event and every year I am happy that we were able to do it. All of the sponsors and volunteers truly made this year's event a success."
