The Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Fifth Annual Wine and Herb "Taste of the Town Tour" to be held Friday, May 4 from 5-9 p.m. in downtown Ridgway.
Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce Administrative Assistant Mary Kucenski invites participants to stroll along historic Main Street, visiting unique shops and sampling local wines and foods.
"There are many businesses participating in the tour, and many more will be welcoming you with an open house and a friendly atmosphere," Kucenski said. "The Wine and Herb Tour is a great event for socializing with friends, getting out in the fresh spring air, and discovering what Ridgway has to offer."
Ridgway Main Street Manager Michelle Bogacki said the tour is an annual spring event very similar to the Christmas Cheer Tour.
"In the past five years the ticket holder was given the opportunity to gather an herb to plant, but this year we have made some changes," Bogacki said. "The herb will now be in a beverage, snack or dip."
The Chamber of Commerce staff will start each participant with a tasting glass and dried herb mix with a recipe.
"We have 20 stops on this year's tour," Bogacki said. "Each participating retailer will be hosting their shop with wine tastings, spirited punches and more.
"The tour is to help promote and recognize the diversity that each and every store in downtown Ridgway has to offer."
Advanced tickets are available at the Welcome Center. Proceeds will benefit the Main Street Programs Promotion and Marketing Committee.
