Elk County Commissioners on Tuesday approved changes to Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) documentation during a board meeting.
The changes are from contracts dating back to fiscal year 2009.
"For those funding years, we had approved a project for the Johnsonburg Community Center to install flooring for the building," said Tracy D. Gerber, CDBG coordinator for Elk County's planning department, as she referenced fiscal years 2009 and 2010. "We're modifying that application to use the funding to purchase and install a new ventilation system and a new ADA-compliant chair lift for the swimming pool area.
"It does require modifications for the state [officials] and there was a public hearing [Tuesday morning] at 9:30 a.m. and no public comments were received."
Officials also addressed issues with a contract from fiscal year 2012.
"This application is due to the state by April 27 and the dollar amount is $212,568 to fund a project in Wilcox," Gerber said. "This is a storm water project that will alleviate flooding in a section of town for $180,683. The remainder of that funding will be for administration of that program-- $31,885."
In other news, the commissioners voted to:
*approve the use of the Elk County Courthouse steps and area in front of the courthouse for a youth event sponsored by The River Outreach on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 5-11:30 p.m.
*approve the use of the courthouse lawn on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the Ridgway Community Yard Sale.
*appoint Lisa Marchiori to complete the term of Gwen Auman on the Elk County Redevelopment Authority. Her term will end Dec. 31, 2014.
