Rose Marie Ginther, 85, of 301 Ford Rd., St. Marys, died peacefully at her home on Friday, March 16, 2012 surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 17, 1926 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Marco and Helen Delisimunovic Paropacic.
On Nov. 28, 1953, she married Gervase Ginther, who survives.
Rose was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of Queen of the World Church. She had worked brieﬂy at Stackpole before her marriage and after that, devoted her life and love to her children and Ginther's Farm. She greatly enjoyed the outdoors at the farm, as well as waiting on and visiting with the customers. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bingo and tending to her rose garden. A rose is a symbol of warmth and love, which she exempliﬁed to her family.
In addition to her husband of nearly 60 years, Gervase Ginther, she is survived by seven daughters, Helen, Mrs. Mark Marzella of Ridgway, Joan Schutz of St. Marys, Linda, Mrs. Daniel Kopp of St. Marys, Lisa, Mrs. Daniel Detsch of St. Marys, Susan, Mrs. Robert Ritter of St. Marys, Darlene "Hine", Mrs. David Boschert of St. Marys, and Diane "Missy" Weis and her ﬁance Mark Wolfel of St. Marys; four sons, Joseph Ginther and his wife Allison "Sunny" of St. Marys, David "Tarz" Ginther and his wife Nancy of St. Marys, Louis Ginther and his wife Ronda of St. Marys, and George Ginther of Kersey; 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Toni Eckert of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ginther; a granddaughter, Tara Ritter; a sister, Louise Gies; and two brothers, Paul and Edward Paropacic.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Marie Ginther will be celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at noon, with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Monday afternoon from 4-7 p.m.
