John L. Brendlinger, 78, of 764 Shelvey Summit Rd., Kersey, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Beaver following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 1, 1934, in Clyde, son of the late Arthur and Ruth (Boring) Brendlinger. He married Martha M. Blessel Wonderly on Nov. 17, 1979. She preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2011.
He was a member of Maria Lutheran Church in Dagus Mines and a member of the Bells of St. Marys and the Ridgway Sportsmen's Club. He had been employed by Exotic Metals and retired from Carbon City Products.
He is survived by two sons, Sam Brendlinger and his wife Jan of Beaver, and Jim Brendlinger, also of Beaver; two stepdaughters, Diane Wonderly Hrusth and her husband Jack of Weedville, and Darlene Wonderly Lewis and her husband Kip of Philipsburg; two grandchildren, Samantha Brendlinger of Beaver, and Richard C. Wonderly and his wife Nancy of Altoona; one great-granddaughter, Maeve E. Wonderly of Altoona; one sister, Ann Mascioni of Ridgway; one brother, Robert Brendlinger and his wife Teresa of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Zora Ford; and two brothers, Donald Brendlinger and infant brother Dennis Brendlinger.
A Memorial Service for John L. Brendlinger will be held at the Maria Lutheran Church on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 1 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Erik Hart, pastor of Maria Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
