The Ridgway Heritage Council is proud to lend its support with a $2,500 donation to the fundraising effort for restoring the Pennsylvania Railroad Station along North Broad Street, initiated with a $50,000 donation by Dennis Heindl, in partnership with Ridgway Borough.
Borough officials will be responsible for accepting donations into a special bank fund that will be used to restore the exterior of the Pennsylvania Railroad station and grounds to as close to the original condition as possible and will disburse funds as needed to pay for the needed improvements and ongoing maintenance. Heindl is responsible for managing the actual construction project.
Additional funding is needed to complete the restoration work and to provide for a maintenance fund. All donations of any amount are appreciated and various members of the Council and other members of the community will be involved in an ongoing fundraising effort. Donations of $250 or higher will have the contributor’s name noted on a plaque that will be installed on the exterior of the station. Checks may be made out to the Borough of Ridgway, noting that it is a Pennsy Station donation, and mailed or delivered to the attention of Marty Schuller, Borough Manager. If you are excited to see the station saved, please consider joining this special community effort.
