Raymond S. "Sparkey" Yale, 83, of Daniel Street Brockport, died November 23, 2011 at his residence.
He was born January 11, 1928 in Brockport, son of the late Eli and Bernice Sidelinger Yale. He was married on February 3, 1951 to Erma Zuccolotto. She survives.
He was a member of Holy Cross Church in Brandy Camp. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WW II, an avid baseball fan, playing well into his late 60's. He also loved to follow the Pirates and Steelers and never missed an episode of the televison show "N.C.I.S.". He was a farmer and had also been employed at Stackpole Carbon.
He is survived by his wife Erma of Brockport; three daughters,
Kathleen Ford of Ridgway, Cynthia (Walter) Polaski of St. Marys and Bonita Clever of Brookville; three sons, Gino Yale of Brockport, Timothy (Barbara) Yale of St. Marys and Michael (Deborah) Yale of Brockport; one brother, Lyle (Janet) Yale of Brockport and one sister, Jean Zaner of Kersey. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Leroy, Gerald "Fats", James, Eli and Richard Yale and two sisters, Julia Zuccolotto and Helen Slodoski.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond S. (Sparkey) Yale will take place Monday Nov.28 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church at Brandy Camp with Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating.
Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.
A Vigil Service will be held Sunday evening at 8:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
