JOHNSONBURG – Bill Warmbrodt of Johnsonburg has been practicing photography since he was a kid.
Warmbrodt says his hobby began when his grandmother passed and he inherited her photographs.
“I always remember my grandmother carrying around an old two-lens camera,” said Warmbrodt. “Her and her sisters would travel all over the state and to New York. And when she passed I inherited all of her photographs.”
Since then, Warmbrodt has been involved in photography. Warmbrodt is a self-taught photographer and has learned along the way. He says he loves every aspect of photography.
“For some people it is a compulsion. For me it is finding the next perfect shot,” Warmbrodt said. “And I love all aspects of it.”
Warmbrodt is a juried artist for the Pennsylvania Wilds. His work can be found in his workshop located at 926 Wilcox Road, Johnsonburg, and it also can be found at the Flemish House Art Gallery in Johnsonburg, the Elk County Council on the Arts in Ridgway, Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys and also his website, billwarmbrodtphotography.com.
