Betty E. Frank, 76, of 675 Montmorenci Ave., Ridgway, and formerly of 231 Spruce St., died peacefully Monday morning, Sept. 5, 2011, at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
She was born July 18, 1935, in Ridgway, daughter of the late James A. and Twelda E. (Gulnac) Richards. She was married to Edmund J. Frank, who preceded her in death in 2001.
She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and the Ridgway Senior Center. She was a graduate of the Ridgway High School and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She had been employed at Elk County General Hospital and Elk Regional Health Center as a registered nurse for 40 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret L. Salberg and her husband Scott of Ridgway, and Denise A. Tutton and her husband Kenneth of Ridgway; six grandchildren, Shannon, Nicole, Shawna, Renee, Cole, and Erie; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Brandon, Jada, Armond, and Noah; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Kurt Richards.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James E. Frank; and one brother, Robert Richards.
A Memorial Service for Betty E. Frank will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Ronald L. Burkett, pastor of the Hallton Church. Burial will follow at Thayer Memorial Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Ridgway Public Library at 329 Center St., Ridgway, PA 15853; or to the Ridgway YMCA at 34 North Broad St., Ridgway, PA 15853.
