Over the past two weekends, the Laurel Mill Golf Club held its annual Club Championships. The golfers were flighted according to their handicap. They then competed in a 54-hole stroke play tournament.
In the Championship Flight, Eric Herzing took first place by 10 strokes over runner-up Anthony Allegretto. Herzing rode a very strong opening weekend, where he registered scores of 70 and 71, to his first Club Championship victory. His three-day total was 219. Allegretto also opened with an impressive 73. He finished the tournament with a 231 total. Bryan Zawatski finished third, while 3-time defending champion Kevin Meals finished fourth.
The First Flight was won by John Luchs. Luchs used rounds of 78, 80 and 84 for a 242 total to hold off Dave Gilmore by 6 strokes. Gilmore fired rounds of 82, 83 and 83.
In the Second Flight, Jamie Cobaugh used a final round 79 to distance himself from the second-place finisher, Jude Eckert. Cobaugh's 249 total bested Eckert's 259 by 10 strokes.
The Junior Championship used 36 holes to crown this year's Champion. In a hotly contested tournament, Eric Matheson held on for a 2-shot win over Jordan Lundin and Josh Roselli, who tied for second. All three players shot 86 in the final round.
