Angeline R. Sidoni, 81, of 49 Meadowbrook Rd., Ridgway, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 19, 1929 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late John and Daisy (Manno) Calla.
She married Thomas D. Sidoni on November 3, 1951. He survives.
She had resided in Ridgway since 1952 and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and was active in the Cursillo movement.
She devoted her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and had previously cooked at Elk County Catholic High School and for the Office of the Aging.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Anthony T. Sidoni and his wife Susan of Syracuse, N.Y., and John M. Sidoni and his wife Marsha of St. Marys; five grandchildren, Bryan, Stephanie, Julie, Christopher and Jeffrey; one great-grandchild, Charlie; three sisters, Rose Wolfe of Johnsonburg, Delores Carroll of Andover, Mass., and Stella Maddalena of Ridgway; one brother, John Calla of Johnsonburg; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul M. Sidoni; four sisters, Fannie Calla, Jennie Calla, Midge Casciani, and Ruth Cherry; and by four brothers, Bruno, Louie, Fred, and Frank Calla.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Angeline R. Sidoni will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at noon. Officiating will be Fr. Brian E. Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Leo Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. A Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.
