Jenny (Lind) DeLong, 70, of Woodland Avenue, Johnsonburg, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at home after a short illness.
She was born Dec. 24, 1940 in Titusville, daughter of the late Edward and Amy (Davidson) Lind.
On Aug. 27, 1960, she married Richard “Dick” DeLong, who survives.
She was born and raised in Titusville and lived in Johnsonburg since 1964. She was a graduate of Titusville High School, attended Clarion University and spent one year traveling in Denmark learning from her family there.
She owned and operated the antique shop “Jennylin Antiques” in Ridgway. She attended Faith Baptist Church in St. Marys. She loved antiques and going to numerous antique shows and flea markets. She enjoyed her family, friends, dancing and her dogs. She was well-known to enjoy living life and it was said “to meet her is to love her.”
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Richard S. “Rick” DeLong II and his wife Margie of Kane, Todd S. and his wife Robin DeLong of Wilcox, Vern E. and his wife Kim DeLong of Johnsonburg, and Ava and her husband Robert Yeager of Johnsonburg; eight grandchildren, Andy, Colton, Evan, Erik, Jason, Nicole, Dylan DeLong and Jennylin Yeager; a brother, Carl and his wife Sandy Lind of Jamestown; and a sister, Patricia Elderkin of Titusville.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two grandchildren, Eden Faith Yeager and Dalton Garret Yeager.
Funeral services for Jenny (Lind) DeLong will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ubel Funeral Home in Johnsonburg, with Pastor Brad Brunner officiating. Interment will take place in Wardvale Methodist Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Visitation will take place Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Community Nurses, Inc. or the American Cancer Society.
