Elk County Commissioner Daniel R. Freeburg reported late Thursday night that the county's 911 Center was again fully operational following a late Tuesday evening evacuation due to noxious fumes.
According to Freeburg, a complete run-through had been completed and no remnants were detected.
Commissioners reported last Friday that back-up batteries were fuming during a charge process.
Workers had since been operating out of the mobile command center. There reportedly was no disruption of service as officials made a smooth transition from the 911 Center along Boot Jack Road in Ridgway Township to the mobile command center.
