The Ridgway Area School District did not receive enough votes at their regular board meeting Tuesday night to adopt the 2011-2012 general fund budget with total revenues and expenses of $12,023,105 as presented at the May board meeting.
Board members Lucy Bobby, Kathy Lampman and president Eugene Pierce voted in favor of the general fund budget and board member Bill Seely voted against it.
"I would like to know if there is any indication of additional state aid because the legislature, I believe, they will grind out some additional state aid," Seely said. "There is an option not to vote on the budget during June. At this time there is no requirement to pass the budget, I believe."
In an effort to adopt a final budget, the district will hold a special meeting on June 27 and 28.
