Teresa A. Valigorsky, age 87, of River Road in Weedville, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on April 9, 1924 in Trenton, N.J. She was the daughter of the late Anthony & Angelina (Viola) Maddalena.
She was a graduate of Ridgway High School and a graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing in Erie where she became a registered nurse.
On January 31, 1948 at St. Leo’s Roman Catholic Church in Ridgway, she married Dr. Paul J. Valigorsky. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2008.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force.
She worked with her husband, Dr. Paul Valigorsky at the Force Clinic for many years until their retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. John (Rebecca) Bricen of Weedville and her son, Dr. P. Joseph Valigorsky II and his wife Toni Cherry of DuBois; two brothers, Mr. Dominic Maddalena of Newberry, S.C. and Mr. Chester Maddalena of Ridgway; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Guarino of Solvay, N.Y. and Mrs. William (Grace) Vencl of Chesterland, Ohio; 4 granddaughters, Bethany, Brittany, and Brooke Bricen and Lee Grace Valigorsky; and one grandson, Paul J. “Trip” Valigorsky III.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Rose Jennings.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. from the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force with Fr. Thomas Tyler as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Force.
