JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg track and field fared well at the Elk County Track Meet held Thursday at Johnsonburg Area High School with many event wins and some meet and school records falling.
In girls' long jump, Rhianon Fowler finished second with a mark of 16-4, it improves her own record from last year and set a new Johnsonburg High School record. Gabbi Benninger was fourth at 14-5 and Bryton Dybowski was fifth at 14-4. Taylor Elias had a mark of 12-0 for ninth and Bailey Smith was 10th at 11-10. Chelsea Phillips was 11th at 11-4.
At girls' shot put, Kiesha Dornish had a mark of 30-7 to qualify her for districts. Marianne Aboussou was fifth at 28-6 and Kathryn Kimes was sixth at 27-10. Laura Stahli was ninth at 23-5. Kara Cribbs was 10th at 21-9.
Cody Anderson was second in girls' discus at 121-4. Keisha Dornish was fourth at 86-3 1/2 and Laura Stahli was eighth at 65-2.
Fowler won the high jump at 4-10, Dybowski was third at 4-4. Fowler also took the 100-meter dash in 13.2.
Benninger was second in the girls' triple jump with a mark of 32-5, Emily Dubler was fifth at 29-4. Aboussou was seventh at 28-1, Taylor Elias was eighth at 26-7 and Carissa Imdorf was ninth at 26-1.
Dornish set a new Elk County Meet record at 126-3 to win girls' javelin. Stahli was sixth at 58-6. Kimes was eighth at 56-0.
The girls 4X800 relay of Alexis Konen, Hannah Lampman, Angela DeAngelo and Kathryn Polaski took second with a time of 10:31.49. Chelsea Benson was second in the 100-meter hurdles at 16.8, a new school record. Imdorf was fourth at 18.71.
Abbie Lampman was sixth in the 1600-meter run at 6:14.18. Benninger took third in the 400 with a time of 1:05.9. Krista Jacobs was fifth at 1:09.2.
The girls 4X100 relay team of Emily Dubler, Fowler, Aboussou and Dornish won with a time of 53.54.
Benson was second in the 300-meter hurdles at 49.76 and Imdorf was third at 53.33.
Konen was fourth in the 800 at 2:37.44. DeAngelo was fifth at 2:41.47 and Polaski took sixth at 2:42.3. Aboussou was second in the 200 at 28.74.
The girls 4X400 relay of DeAngelo, Polaski, Abbie Lampman and Konen was second at 4:41.6.
Mike Shuey was the winner in boys' high jump at 6-4, a new school record en route to being the boys' field MVP. He set a new meet record in winning javelin at 189-11. Trevor Miller was third at 137-7. Drew Lecker was 11th at 86-6 and Jason Dubler was 12th with a mark of 86-3.
Miller won in boys' shot put with a mark of 52-1. Dubler was fifth at 34-3 and Lecker was eighth at 31-7. Miller was third at discus at 104-11 and Dubler took ninth at 64-1. Shuey was also fourth in triple jump at 39-1.
Cody Schreiber was the boys' pole vault winner with a mark of 11-3.
As a team, the girls were second with 53.5 points and the boys were third at 28 points.
