Paul D. Schultz Sr., 63, of 8166 Shiloh Road, Woodland, and a former Wilcox resident, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Ridgway, son of the late Michael John and Josephine Bullers Schultz Sr.
On May 26, 1973, in the Queen of the World Church, he married Mary M. Greenthaner, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of Wilcox until moving to Woodland three years ago. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1965.
Schultz was a retired employee of Metal Powder Products in St. Marys, retiring in 2007 after 38 years of service.
He was a member of the St. Agatha Church in Morrisdale and the Wilcox American Legion; a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War; enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing and was an avid sports fan, supporting Penn State, the Steelers, the Pirates and Duke basketball.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Micole Firanski and her husband John of Woodland; a son, Paul D. Schultz Jr. and his wife Jill of Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren, Brennan Schultz, Andie Schultz, Logan Firanski, Braedon Firanski, Kayla Firanski and Kurris Firanski; a sister, Carol Doyle of Felton, Del.; and four brothers, Michael Schultz Jr. of Penn Hills, Kenneth Schultz and his wife Anna of Clearfield, Ricard Schultz and his wife Iris of Miamisburg, Ohio and Thomas Schultz of Ulysses.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul D. Schultz Sr. will be celebrated in the St. Anne Church in Wilcox on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
