Jane E. Gausman, 59, of 872 Brusselles St., St. Marys, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at the Life Care Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 4, 1951 in Genesee, daughter of the late Earl and Leota Holt Truax.
On July 4, 1971, in Genesee, she married Joseph R. Gausman, who survives.
She was a graduate of Northern Potter High School, Class of 1971. She had been a resident of St. Marys for the past 41 years.
She was a member of the Agape Assembly of God, was a past Royal Ranger Commander, and volunteered at Extended Care and at the South St. Marys Street Elementary School Cafeteria.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Theresa Nicklas and her husband Daniel of St. Marys; two sons, Christopher Gausman and his wife Michele of St. Marys and James Gausman and his wife Bridgette of St. Marys; nine grandchildren, Zachary Gausman, Connor Gausman, Bryce Gausman, Austin Nicklas, Sean Nicklas, Sarah Nicklas, Ethan Gausman, Hannah Gausman and Issac Gausman; her twin sister, Jean Beckhorn of Millport; six brothers, Paul Truax of Elkland, Sam Truax of North Carolina, Carl Slauson of Florida, Norman Buchanan of Coudersport, David Clark of Shinglehouse, Clare Slauson of New York; and close family friend Sharon Burns and her husband Shane of St. Marys.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Truax.
Funeral services for Jane E. Gausman will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jesse Ledbetter, pastor of the Agape Assembly of God, officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Protestant Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
