Alice M. Carobine, age 79, of 202 Taylor Ave., Ridgway, died Tuesday morning at the DuBois Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was born July 10, 1931 in Force, daughter of the late Ettore and Irene (Trentine) Zuchelli. She married Geno Carobine on April 18, 1953, he survives. She had resided in Ridgway for 57 years and was a former resident of Force. She was a graduate of the Weedville High School. She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.
Surviving besides her husband are five sons; Daniel J. Carobine and his wife Julie of Ventura, Calif., Thomas R. Carobine and his wife Diane of Ridgway, Timothy J. Carobine of Williamstown, Mass., Donald A. Carobine of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ronald G. Carobine of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Libby, Maria, Matthew, Domenic, Angela, Samantha and Emma; one brother, Carl Zuchelli and his wife Rita of Ridgway; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dino Zuchelli, and one sister, Julia Kebblish.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal for Alice M. Carobine will be celebrated at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Kersey on Saturday at 10 a.m. due to renovations being done at St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Leo Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Wake Service will be held at the funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Memorials if desired can be made to St. Leo Catholic Church or to the Ridgway Fire Department.
