William F. "Bill" Myers

William F. "Bill" Myers, 70, of 301 High Street, Johnsonburg, died on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
He was born on November 4, 1941 in Ridgway, son of the late Francis and Virginia Riekofsky Myers.
He married his wife of 50 years, Virginia "Ginny" Wenner on May 29, 1961 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg. She survives.
He resided in Johnsonburg all his life and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1959.
He was a Vietnam-era veteran serving overseas as an E-3 with the U.S. Navy at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Argentia, Newfoundland.
He was employed by Keystone Carbon Co. in St. Marys for 36 years retiring in 2000.
He was a member of the Holy Rosary Church and enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, going to hockey games in Pittsburgh and reminiscing about things in the past like football and watching the grandchildren in their sports like moto-cross. He also especially loved his dog Scruffy and sitting on the porch just watching the birds.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark Myers and his wife Melissa of Johnsonburg; two daughters, Brenda, Mrs. Steven Gerg of St. Marys and Linda Lindgren of Johnsonburg; nine grandchildren, Billy, Mark, Becca and Kiana Myers, Stacy, Candy and Gary "KO" Parks and Christopher Muroski and Casey Grizzard; one great-granddaughter, Jenna Feronti and one sister, Janice Myers of Johnsonburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James "Moose" Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burial for William F. "Bill" Myers will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St. Johnsonburg on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg-Wilcox Servicemen's Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home Saturday morning at 9:15 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions should be made to The American Red Cross or to Community Nurses, Inc., 757 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857.
