William Bruce Beck

William Bruce Beck, age 90, of Pleasant Drive, Warren, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie.
Born Oct. 5, 1920 in Renovo, a son of Harold Reed Beck and Ruby Losey Beck, he married Betty Jane Caldwell in Brookville on Aug. 11, 1951; she preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 2003.
He was a World War II veteran having served with the Army Air Corps 439th Troop Carrier Group, 93rd Troop Carrier Squadron as a glider pilot and also was a veteran of the Korean Conflict in the 1094th Special Reporting Squadron as an Air Force officer at Manzano Base in Albuquerque, N.M.
He retired as a sergeant in the Pennsylvania State Police after 30 years.
His hobbies included golfing and bowling. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion and Masonic Lodge, and was a graduate of Renovo High School and Lock Haven State Teacher's College.
He is survived by one son, David Reed Beck (Diane) of Centerburg, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Erin Marie Beck and Jonathan Andrew Beck.
He is predeceased by his parents and wife.
Visitation hours will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Brookville. A service will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sigel.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the donors' choice.
