Ridgway wrestling won 67-9 over Brookville last night at Ridgway Area High School as the Elkers honored eight seniors.
"They wrestled very aggressive," Ridgway coach Gary Gerber said. "Those Brookville kids, they didn't give us anything, they made us fight for everything. They have some serious injury problems to overcome, they're starting to get a little bit healthy with Shields coming back and Constable will be back at 103. By next year, they're going to be a powerhouse. They're well-coached and they're scrappers." Ridgway honored seniors Nate Dornisch, Sam Skraba, Zack Zelcs, Joe Chittester, Lee Krug, Cody Miller, Jeff Slattery and Garet Pisani before the match. "Senior Night is a sad night for me," Gerber said. "You get close to the kids when you spend this much time with them." Overall, Ridgway won 12 of the 14 matches. Ridgway received four forfeits, six pinfalls, one major decision and one decision. The dual meet started at 145 as Nate Dornisch scored a 2-1 decision over Ron Clark.
