WILCOX – The Jones Township Municipal Authority turned its eye toward the 2010 budget at last night’s meeting.
The preliminary budget is structured very similar to the 2009 budget, except the EDU (Equivalent Dwelling Unit) may be raised, according to Chairman Carl Johnson. The authority discussed sewer bills with Johnsonburg Municipal Authority being variable due to weather and rain, ranging from  $3,496 to $4,983.
The authority is planning on leaving the insurance the same in the upcoming year’s budget, while lowering the budget for the office supplies. The vehicle expense will be set at $750, while the cell phone expense is expected to remain the same.
In other news at the 45-minute meeting:
- Approved payment of bills, including $49.70 to Paris Uniform; $52 to Wolff Refuse; $4,000 to Willy Kennedy; $116.16 to Postmaster; $50 to Robert M. Johnson; $4,027.35 to JMA; $1,399 to Selective Insurance; $53.50 to Wilcox Water Co.; $50 to Petty Cash; $1,795 to Titusville Copy Products; $11,2000 to RUS Transfer; $325 to Bio-Systems; $310.08 to Jim Airgood Pressure Washers; $6 to VISA; $512 to Technology Insurance, along with payroll, utilities and taxes.
- Reported that all tenants are paid for water/sewage.
- Reported that payments have been received on two delinquent accounts.
- Vice Chairman Jim Abbey suggested the authority be “more aggressive” in seeking payments from those on the delinquent list.
- Will seek two properties on the delinquent list towards sheriff’s sale.
- Investigative work is still being conducted on the meter near Johnsonburg. The meter had been struck by lightning this past summer.
