By Brent Addleman Editor Friday evening at The Royal Inn, the Ridgway–Elk Chamber of Commerce will holds its annual membership banquet. This year, the organization has chosen to honor Ridgway’s service organizations and Mayor James Martin. “We are going to honor Rotary Club, Lions Club, Odd Fellows and Mayor Martin, who has been mayor for 22 years,” said Nina Stolburg of the chamber, who is also a borough councilmember. “We honor an organization and a person in the community who have been very good [to the community.]” For Stolburg, the choice to honor Martin was an easy one. “He has served the Ridgway Community for 22 years,” Stolburg said. “We thought he would be a good choice.” Steve Cleveland, first vice president of the chamber and owner of Ridgway BiLo Foods, will serve as emcee for the event. “We’re gonna have a lot of fun and its going to be a brisk, enjoyable evening,” Cleveland said. The evening begins with cocktails at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. and the program will begin at 7:30 p.m. |
