The third annual Rotary Club of Ridgway Car & Motorcycle Show is set for Sunday.
By Brent Addleman Editor The third annual Rotary Club of Ridgway Car & Motorcycle Show is set for Sunday. The event, which is a fundraiser for the organization’s scholarship fund, will be held on Court and Center Streets, rain or shine. “Proceeds from the show are used towards the Rotary scholarship fund, which goes to Ridgway students,” event organizer Heather Serafini said. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon and there are 15 classes, including Production up to 1935; Production (1936-1954); Production (1955-1964); Production (1965-1974); Production (1975-1986); Production (1987-1998); Production (1999-current); Street Machines (1900-1965); Street Machines (1966-1998); Street Machines (1999-current); Modified (trucks, vans utility vehicles); Import/Tuner; Jeeps, Stock; Jeeps, Modified; Motorcycles (up to 1970); and Motorcycles (1971-2007.) The first 25 entries will receive a t-shirt. The show is a judged show, and trophies will be awarded following all judging. There will be a total of 48 awards, with three trophies per class, including Best of Show, Best Engine and Best Paint. There will be craft vendors at the event, and the Rotary Club will be providing the food, which features a Chicken BBQ. “We’re gonna have some craft vendors and the Rotary is doing all the food,” Serafini said. “There will be a chicken barbeque and there will be sloppy joes and a bake sale.” Entertainment will be provided by CK Audio. “The first year, we had a great turnout,” Serafini said. “Last year, it rained and we didn’t get much of a turnout. We are hoping for a lot of community support.” |
