Work continues on the Johnsonburg bypass. According to a press release from PennDOT, Swank and Associates are set to begin construction on the bridge that will span the Clarion River.

CLEARFIELD – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT/District 2) issues the following update for the Route 219, Elk County/Johnsonburg Bypass project, effective Sept. 28. Contractor on the $32 million project is Swank and Associated Companies.
All work is weather and schedule dependent.
The contractor will be placing reinforced concrete beams on the substructures of the new bridge at the north end of the project, near West Center Street. Beam erection will start on Sept. 28 and will continue for approximately three weeks.
Motorists are advised to be cautious and watch for slow moving or stopped vehicles through the entire work zone and obey the posted speed limit.
For more information on roadway construction and maintenance operations, visit the PennDOT Web site at www.dot.state.pa.us.
