By Becky Polaski Staff Writer Members of the St. Marys City Police Department were called to Elk Regional Health Center along the Johnsonburg Road early Tuesday afternoon following the report of a missing youth. According to St. Marys City Police Chief Todd Caltagarone, the individual was a juvenile who was being treated at the hospital. “A juvenile ran away from the hospital’s emergency room, where they were being treated,” Caltagarone said. Because the issue deals with a juvenile, the city police are prohibited from releasing the individual’s name. After leaving the hospital, the individual ran down into the wooded area near Elk Regional Health Center. “We are just trying to find (the individual) and return (the individual) back here to get treated, that’s all,” Caltagarone added when discussing the situation. In addition to the St. Marys City Police Department, the Crystal Fire Department and Elk Regional Health Center personnel assisted with the search. A message left with the city police last night was not returned. A representative from Elk Regional Health Center stated they were not permitted to comment on whether the juvenile had been found. |
