Ridgway 9- and 10-year-olds crush Warren Print E-mail
Friday, 03 July 2009
The Ridgway 9-and-10 year olds dominated Warren last night by a score of 21-0 in Warren. The game was highlighted by a no-hitter thrown by Ridgway pitcher Ben Ames.
"He pitched really well," Ridgway coach Craig Kasmierski said. "He had nine strikeouts."
Ridgway had 17 hits overall with Drew Baumgratz having a five-hit game. Ames also had three hits. Jordan Laughner and Neil MacDonald each had two hits.
"We hit well and played great defense for only having three outs in the field," Kasmierski said.
Ridgway will be at home on Tuesday for its next game, a 6 p.m. start against an opponent to be determined.
"We're in great shape for Tuesday," Kasmierski said. "We only used one pitcher again so we can have Josh (Raubenstrauch) ready. You can't beat where we're at right now."
