Rifle Club hosts Sierra Classic |

The Ridgway Rifle Club hosted the Sierra Classic this month.
Each competitor had two rounds of 40 shots each, 10 at four different targets.
In the Sierra Classic highpower competition, Brian Wakefield was the overall matchwinner with a score of 58. Ben Marzella was second overall with a 56 and Derek Greenaway was third with a score of 56.
Fred Kielbowick was the Master class champion with a 55. Al Foust had a score of 51 to capture the AAA class crown. Walt Robertson was second in the class with a 51 and John Shaw was third with a 46. He also had the best score in the senior division.
Brad Maxwell had a score of 40 to win in AA class. Harold Frey had a 38 for second place and John Peterson was third with a 35.
Bob Soder had a score of 34 to win A class. Russ Cullen had a score of 32 for second and Luke Johnson was third with a 31 for third. Johnson was also the top competitor in the junior category.
Tom Chiesa was the B class champion with a score of 25. Tim Stephens was second with a 25 and Chris Simmons finished third with a 22.
In the Sierra Classic hunter rifle division, Greenaway was the overall matchwinner with a score of 58. Foust had a 54 for second and Marzella was third overall with a 54.
Wally Howard was the Master Class champion with a score of 51. Bob Kirby was the AAA class champion with a score of 48. Shaw was second at a mark of 47 and was the top finisher in the senior division. Wakefield was third with a score of 45.
David Gillispie was the AA class winner with a score of 43. Gary Dawson was second with a 38 in the class and Pete Gionet was third with a 37.
In A class, Cullen was the winner with a score of 35. Bob Soder was second with 33 and Chiesa was third with a 31.
Johnson was the top junior with a 28 and Kathryn Grigg was the top woman's finisher with a score of 24.
Joseph Viscardi won B class with a 23. Jim Pendleton was second with a score of 20.
The next high power match at the club is scheduled for July 19. |
