By Becky Polaski Staff Writer Straub Beer is no longer only available in bottles. Sales of 12 ounce aluminum cans of Straub’s Premium Beer began this morning at 8:30 a.m. at Straub Brewery in St. Marys. Distributors across the state are expected to be selling the cans by the end of this week. “We are just very excited,” Straub Brewery Inc. President and CEO Bill Brock said. While Straub Beer is locally-owned and brewed, the beer is currently being canned in Rochester, N.Y. “We are canning them out of Rochester at the High Falls facility up there,” Brock said. “We have been working for the last couple months to make sure it is as close to an exact replica as humanly possible and we are very satisfied.” Currently only Straub’s Premium Beer is available in 12 ounce cans, though Straub Light is expected to also be available in cans later this summer. |
